My Healthy Hips Online Workshop Part 1 & Part 2

A 4 hour workshop, includes a 30 minute break between Part 1 and Part 2.

The intention of this workshop is to provide you with practical knowledge to ensure your asana practice is as therapeutically beneficial as possible for your hip joints and pelvis.

The knowledge Barbra will share is based on biomechanics, anatomical intelligence, and her personal journey of managing her own hip injuries.

You will practice structural yoga therapy for the hips and pelvis. In addition, Barbra will offer advice on how to prepare for and recover from hip surgery. This is relevant information for all yoga teachers since they will at some point encounter students who have had a hip replacement or are considering hip replacement surgery. This workshop will provide you with everything you need to know.

PART 1 - ASANA PRACTICE: Barbra will lead you through a warm-up, followed by a hip and pelvis-focused practice implementing the alignment principles of Anusara Yoga.

You will learn specific alignment techniques and strength-building practices that Barbra has successfully used over many years to manage her own hip injuries and to help students all over the world.

Barbra will explain basic hip and pelvis anatomy in simple terms. She will make it easy for you to understand how the principles of alignment create a healthier, more sustainable way of working with hip stability and mobility.

PART 2 - HR EDUCATION: Barbra will share her personal journey with hip replacement surgery. Hip pain and the need for hip surgery are extremely common among yoga practitioners – but no one talks about it.

Her key message is: “If you need to choose this surgery, please know that it can go extremely well with the right preparation and rehabilitation. My surgeries have been very successful, absolutely life-changing, and after years of intense pain, they have given me my joy for movement back!”
